Plan vs. Performance- Winter Session 2009: Nov 19 to Dec 22

The Lok Sabha adjourned sine die on December 18 ahead of the December 21 schedule. Sitting of the Rajya Sabha got extended by one day due to the death of a sitting member. Both houses discussed the supplementary demands for grants, government’s position on climate change and rise in prices of essential commodities besides other legislation. Lok Sabha worked for 84% of the scheduled hours and Rajya Sabha for 81% of the scheduled hours. Several hours were lost due to interruptions and walkouts on the issues of sugarcane pricing, Telangana, Liberhan Report and inflation.
