Congratulations. Useful to have a singular forum as a repository of serious information, accessible by all. Three additions, after a quick perusal of the website: 1. With permission of the Lok Sabha Secretariat, it might be valuable to post online an entire set of the Constituent Assembly Debates. 2. Link to text of Parliamentary Q&A. Parliament website provides (as does the Ministry of External Affairs website on non-domestic issues), but the tabled papers do not appear available. No forward / backward linking in the questions, denying continuity. The search facility Parliament is overwhelming and in any case provides only data post 2000 (archives are abstracts). 3. Linkage with Parliamentary Library. A summary sheet of whats available is at http://www.parliamentofindia.nic.in/ls/intro/p13.htm. Particularly grateful for your linking Parliamentary Committees. These useful materials assist in bridging the gap between technocratic and political policy formulation.

Readers might be interested in the following news item regarding an initiative to allow student-intern into Parliament. This might be one useful pool whereby Parliamentary outreach can be made accessible in lay-person langauge. http://www.ibnlive.com/news/politics/04_2007/parliament-no-bar-cpim-wants-law-interns-in-house-38407.html Cheers, Dev

i am highly impressed with the intiative taken by PRS in making legislative business more easy and compact. I came to know about PRS through INDIAN EXPRESS and now a regular visitor. I would appreciate if the bills and legislations are put on prsindia.rog in a more simpler languages which a common man can understand. The effort is well thought and should be taken further with every citizen involved in the process of making our legislators more accountable.

Excellent resource. Agree with Devashish's points. Would also suggest that 'positive engagement in for a participatory legislative process' mandates a necessary broadening of scope from Parliament alone, to all Legislatures in India. Also, the number of topics included in the State and Concurrent Lists in the 7th Schedule to the Constitution may make a strong case for inclusion of links to State Legislatures, pending Bills and other material.
