A delegation of Parliamentarians from Afghanistan visited the PRS office on a recent trip to New Delhi. The visit, coordinated by USAID's Afghanistan Parliamentary Assistance Project, was to help them explore questions related to the objectives and work of PRS as a possible model for establishing a research service for their own Parliament.
Senior Parliamentarians from both Houses of Parliament - the 'Wolesi Jirga' and 'Meshrano Jirga' - interacted with the PRS team and discussed a range of issues. These included the composition and functioning of the Indian Parliament; research support that is institutionally available to MPs in India; the nature of research support that MPs require, among other issues.
