M R Madhavan

Madhavan co-founded PRS and is currently its President.

Prior to starting PRS, Madhavan was based in Singapore covering currency and interest rate markets as Principal and Senior Strategist for the Asia region for Bank of America. He started his career with ICICI Securities in Mumbai in the equity research group and later headed interest rates research. He is a Fellow (doctorate) from IIM Calcutta, MBA from IIM Calcutta and holds a B. Tech degree from IIT Madras. In 2010, Madhavan was selected as a Chevening Gurukul Scholar at the London School of Economics.

Abhijit Banare

Abhijit Banare is a Programme Officer responsible for citizen engagement platforms and outreach to state legislators.

Before joining PRS, he was a LAMP fellow to Member of Parliament Om Birla from Kota, Rajasthan. He has previously worked with cricketcountry.com as a reporter and with Scroll.in as content curator. He has completed a Bachelors in Mass Media from Ramnarain Ruia College, Mumbai.

Ahita Paul

Ahita is an Analyst in the research team.

Prior to joining PRS, she worked as a business analyst with Capital One for its financial services division and business risk office. She has also pursued an internship with Deloitte. She holds a postgraduate degree in Quantitative Economics from Indian Statistical Institute, Kolkata, and completed her Bachelors in Economics from St. Xavier's College, Kolkata. ahita@prsindia.org

Ankita Nanda

Ankita is a Project Associate with the Outreach team.

She holds a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Political Science and Sociology and a Postgraduate Diploma in Advanced Studies and Research from Ashoka University. She has previously interned with the Urbanisation Team at Centre for Policy Research. She has also worked on documenting oral histories as a Research Assistant at the Partition Museum in Amritsar.

Chakshu Roy

Chakshu heads the legislative and civic engagement initiatives at PRS.

He is an expert on the rules and procedures of Parliament and its functioning. He anchors programs to strengthen the capacity of legislators at the centre and state level. He supports civil society organisations to engage with legislatures and has trained journalist groups about tracking the functioning of Parliament and State Vidhan Sabhas. He has also been involved in setting up the first comprehensive database of state legislation in the country. He writes regularly on legislative issues and about the strengthening of the institution of Parliament. Chakshu is an IVLP and INK Fellow and holds a bachelor’s degrees from Delhi University.

Gayatri Mann

Gayatri Mann is an Associate Analyst.

She has completed her Bachelor of Business Studies, with a specialisation in Finance from Shaheed Sukhdev College of Business Studies. During the course of her studies, she worked with Enactus to promote social entrepreneurship. She also co founded Project Udaan, a social enterprise with a mission to bridge the digital divide in India.

Hemlata Bisht

Hema is Administrative Assistant to the PRS team

She is responsible for content updation on the Laws of India and PRS websites, state laws data compilation and assisting the PRS team in administrative functions. She has worked with BSA Logistics Company in the customer care division and Solution-Digitas as a Quality Analyst. Hema holds Bachelors degrees in Arts from Delhi University and a Diploma in Office Management from the YMCA, New Delhi.

Kusum Malik

Kusum is a Project Manager

Kusum is an Project Manager who focuses on tracking the work done by legislators and legislatures. She is in charge of content management of PRS websites. In addition, she oversees the translation of PRS research products. She has earlier worked with the Centre for Policy Research supporting the work of different research teams. Kusum holds Bachelors degrees in Commerce from Delhi University and Diploma in Financial Management and Accountability from FMSF- Tata Institute of Social Sciences.

Mandira Kala

Mandira is Head of Research.

She led PRS' engagement with MPs, to provide them legislative and policy support. Her core role involved engaging with MPs regularly to understand their research needs, briefing them on upcoming issues and designing initiatives that add value to the work of MPs. Mandira also anchored the LAMP Fellowship during its initial years. Previously, she has worked in the research team of Azim Premji Foundation, Bangalore and Centre for Social Policy, Boston, USA. She was awarded the UNDP Asia- Pacific Human Development Academic Fellowship in 2008. Mandira was selected as an Emerging Leaders Fellow 2011-12 by the Australia India Institute at the University of Melbourne. She has a Ph.D. in Public Policy from the University of Massachusetts, Boston.

Prachee Mishra

Prachee is a Senior Analyst tracking the sectors of urban development and transport.

Prachee has worked with the New York City - Department of Transportation and with a research team at New York University Wagner primarily on public transit systems and public spaces. She has also worked with the Lincoln Institute of Land Policy at Cambridge, US on a research study on public housing and transit in Cape Town, South Africa. Prior to that, Prachee worked in Mumbai as an architect. She holds a Masters degree in Urban Planning from New York University, US and a Bachelors degree in Architecture from NIT Bhopal.

Praveen Chandrasekaran

Praveen heads the LAMP Fellowship Programme.

Prior to joining PRS, he worked with Fidelity Investments based out of Bangalore, Boston, MA & Merrimack, NH and with Fastenal company focusing mainly on data and database strategy and administration. He pursued the Graduate Certificate in Public Policy(GCPP) course with the Takshashila Institution as part of their 14th cohort and he has a Bachelors degree in Engineering from Sri Venkateswara College of Engineering, Anna University, Chennai.

Raunaq Jain

Raunaq heads the LAMP Fellowship Programme and manages citizen engagement.

Prior to joining PRS, he has worked with Telecom Centres of Excellence (TCOE) India, a PPP initiative of Department of Telecom, Government of India. Raunaq holds a Bachelors degree in Economics from University of Delhi and an MBA from the Welingkar Institute of Management, Mumbai. In 2017, Raunaq was selected by U.S Department of State for their International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP) as a visiting Young Leader from India.

Roopal Suhag

Roopal is an Analyst in the research team.

Roopal has an undergraduate degree in Urban Planning from the Centre for Environmental Planning and Technology in Ahmedabad. She has interned at the Indian Institute of Management in Ahmedabad and with CES (I) Pvt. Ltd. in the Urban Planning Department.

Roshni Sinha

Roshni Sinha is an Analyst in the research team.

Prior to joining PRS, she worked in Samvad Partners, Bangalore in the areas of banking & finance, venture capital and private equity transactions, cross-border and domestic acquisitions. Roshni has also previously worked in the Corporate Legal Group of ICICI Bank where she advised the bank on domestic and offshore lending transactions. She holds a B.A., LL.B. (Hons.) from Gujarat National Law University, Gandhinagar and a Masters in Law from University College London.

S V Prasad

Prasad is Head of Accounts and Administration.

He has over 25 years of work experience in Finance, Accounts, Audit, Administration and Sales & Marketing. Prasad holds Bachelors degrees in Commerce and Law from Delhi University.

Sanat Kanwar

Sanat is an Associate Analyst.

He has graduated with a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Economics, Politics and International Studies from University of Warwick. Prior to joining, he interned at PRS for two months. He has pursued internships in Nielsen and Deloitte in the past.

Suyash Tiwari

Suyash is an analyst in the research team.

Suyash has a B.Tech. (Hons.) and M.Tech. in Mining Engineering from IIT Kharagpur. He has previously interned with the Ministry of Steel while at KPMG, and the Accountability Initiative, Centre for Policy Research.

Vinayak Krishnan

Vinayak is an Analyst in the research team.

He has a Bachelors in Economics from University of Delhi and a Masters in Public Policy from University College London. Vinayak has previously interned at the Centre for Policy Research in New Delhi.
