PRS has several publications that provide comprehensive analysis of legislative business and key policy issues debated in the Indian Parliament. PRS presents its analysis of Bills in Parliament and policy debates through some of the following ways: Legislative Briefs, prepared based on Bills that are pending in Parliament. These are easy-to-understand 4-6 page documents providing a jargon-free, non-partisan overview of the issues and implications of Bills. Each Brief channelises stakeholder inputs about the provisions of the Bill. The Briefs are sent to all Members of Parliament in the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha, NGOs across the country, corporates and journalists. Direct oral briefings are provided to MPs on relevant legislation and other non-legislative matters, on request. Bill Summaries provide a single-page synopsis of all pending Bills. Summaries of Reports of Standing Committees and independent commissions instituted by the government. These provide quick snapshots of the key recommendations and findings of the reports. Summaries of significant policies on topical issues of national interest are provided to MPs, on request. Vital Stats, are graph-based notes highlighting interesting trivia and information on Parliament and legislation. PRS also provides detailed data and analysis on activities of the Indian Parliament. Parliament Session Alerts provides a heads-up about the legislative agenda of forthcoming sessions. Session Wraps provide a crisp recap of the business transacted. It also provides a list of passed and pending Bills at the end of each session. Legislative News Scan: Daily update of legislative news in major newspapers. Laws of India: PRS has created a searchable freely accessible public database of all laws passed by different state/UT legislatures in India. Commissioned Research: Specific research projects on issues pertaining to legislation or to Parliamentary activity. Support to Journalists: PRS has organised workshops for journalists and trained over 1000 state/district level journalists on tracking the activities of MPs and MLAs.
